Morning Rituals For Success — How To Benefit From Morning Rituals Without Making It A Crutch | TSB #063

Podcast

I recently got a question about my morning ritual. I will tell you how it evolved over time.

So I created my first morning ritual when I was super unproductive. This was 4-5 years ago and then I just wanted to stay in bed.

Here’s an important lesson: if you want to be an entrepreneur there’s nothing more relevant than the “action muscle”. Action and speed of implementation are your best chance at success. And so implementing my first morning ritual was crucial to get out of the lazy mindset.

My original morning ritual revolved around: half liter of water, meditation, gym, shower and then breakfast.

The keys for me are water and shower. Those are the ones that have stuck with me all along.

Drinking half a liter of water in the morning keeps me hydrated and away from a foggy and unclear state of mind, where I would be much more vulnerable to distractions and laziness.

And then I have my shower. See, when you are your own boss and don’t have to actually go to a job, it’s very tempting to get up in your underwear, check your computer, and all of a sudden is 2 p.m and you’re still checking your stats.

That’s why taking a shower and getting ready, just like an actual job, gets me going.

My verdict is that you want to stick with what works for YOU. It’s a personal thing. Ask yourself: “What types of activities get my day going?

And when it comes to morning rituals you want to stay flexible.

Your life situation will change. Don’t be too rigid. Find a morning ritual that makes sense for you.

You want to avoid your morning ritual turning into a crutch, where you can only have a great and productive day if you execute your morning ritual. Morning rituals are an awesome “luxury”, but your life and success shouldn’t depend on them in any way.

That being said, enjoy the podcast!
