How to Become More Productive – Learn To Overcome Procrastination & How To Deal With Laziness | TBS #009

Podcast

Productivity is one of those things that you can never fully master, but always get a bit better at. Before you even start trying to get more productive, you have to be realistic about the fact that you’ll fail.

That’s an understatement.

You’ll fail a million times, you’ll set a goal and not execute. You’ll make a commitment and not follow through and quit and then start again.

That’s the truth. But don’t be scared of failure. Just understand that is part of the process.

The key to developing a high-level of productivity is to keep cycling through this process and improve 1% every time. Wash, rinse, repeat. Or in other words: Commit, fail, give it another shot. You’ll be getting stronger every time.

Every time you “fall off the path” you’ll feel frustrated and angry. Accept that.

Use these negative emotions of fury to fuel your next attempt and give it a bit more. Try harder. Build more leverage. Keep up your habit one additional day. And when you fall back, use that fury to try even harder, to be even more committed and to give it your best.

I call this process FURY HOPPING.

You’re literally jumping from fury, to fury, to fury and using every setback to build more leverage and deepen your dedication. You don’t let it to keep you down.

Do this for a couple of months or years aka the rest of your life.

You will become more productive and your willpower muscle will grow. There is no “quick fix” to this problem, only repeated execution and failure accompanied by constant daily re-commitment. It’s a cumulative work. It’s a habit, really.
