In this article I compare both sales funnel builders and let you know which one I recommend for exactly what type of person.

The most important aspect of any sales funnel builder is its functionality. What features does the tool offer? What can you do with a software? In the battle between Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels there are a few key differences in terms of functionality that you have to be aware of.
Overall, both tools do pretty much the same things.
But there are some nuances.
Dropfunnels:
Dropfunnels is a sales funnel builder that is powered by WordPress. WordPress is a popular content management system. It’s known for great search engine friendliness and around 40% or so of websites are powered by WordPress.
This is definitely beneficial for a few reasons when it comes to organic ranking.
Instead of looking at what Dropfunnels and Clickfunnels have in common, let’s look at what makes them different.
What Dropfunnels has that Clickfunnels doesn’t:

- You can run a real blog on Dropfunnels, powered by WordPress
- Easier to rank with search engine optimization (SEO)
- Video hosting

Clickfunnels:
Clickfunnels on the other hand has some features that Dropfunnels doesn’t have. Again, both tools have a lot in common.
But let’s first look at what Clickfunnels has that Dropfunnels doesn’t:

- Native email marketing platform without a third-party service
- Long track record and been around for about a decade
- Funnel marketplace
- Large community
- Industry leading live event
- Awards
As you can see, both tools have certain benefits and features that the other tool doesn’t. The thing that stands out most is that Dropfunnels uses WordPress, which makes it a more powerful tool for search engine ranking.
I also like the ability to use coupon codes on Dropfunnels and the legal signatures on checkout forms. The ability to host videos with Dropfunnels is a benefit as well. Apart from that, Clickfunnels does pretty much everything that Dropfunnels does.
Dropfunnels on the other hand misses a built-in affiliate management tool. They integrate with a third-party tool though.
Dropfunnels integrates with third-party email marketing platforms, but Clickfunnels has the ability to send newsletters and follow up emails directly.
On top of this, Clickfunnels has been around longer, is the leading sales funnel builder, has a massive community, prestigious awards and the leading live event in the industry.
Despite this, I’d say it’s a draw in terms of features.

2. Limitations.
Let’s be honest, every marketing software has some limitations and limits depending on the plan you choose. But in the battle between Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels, who wins in terms of usage limits and what’s included with each plan?
Let’s take a look and compare both tools from a stand point of usage limits.
Dropfunnels
Dropfunnels has three different tiers.

I’ll talk more about pricing later, for now we’ll just look at the limitations that each tool has. Now that you know the usage limits of each Dropfunnels plan, let’s take a look at how Clickfunnels fairs in this regard.
Clickfunnels
Clickfunnels has two different tiers.

The main thing that stands out is that Clickfunnels allows more custom domains. However, Dropfunnels doesn’t have a monthly traffic limit on any of their plans which is a plus.
It’s important to mention though that it’s actually quite tough to even get close to the 20,000 monthly visits limit that Clickfunnels has in place.
That’s a lot of monthly traffic.
I’d say when it comes to limitations, Dropfunnels wins.

3. Robustness and Bugs.
Next up, let’s take a look at how robust, reliable and buggy both tools are. This is important, because the last thing you want is a tool that is full of bugs and not doing what you actually want it to do.
Let’s continue our quest for a winner in the battle between Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels. Who wins this round?
Let’s find out.
Dropfunnels:
When I set up my Dropfunnels account and entered my payment details, I was redirected to a page that had an error message.
So right upon signing up I encountered a bug, which unfortunately is the worst moment. Right after signing up for a software or making a purchase the customer should be encouraged and re-enforced that the decision was right.
In this case, I had the exact opposite experience.
Luckily, they sent me an email with my login details but I got two different logins. One of them didn’t work, saying the user didn’t exist and the other one worked.
But when I logged in, it said I didn’t have sufficient permissions to view my “Dashboard”, which meant I couldn’t actually do anything with the tool. But what I really loved was that the founder of Dropfunnels personally reached out to me on Facebook which shows that they truly care and take their support seriously.
I trust that the team at Dropfunnels will sort this out quickly. They are a newer software, so naturally they’ll be dealing with more growing pains and bugs than other tools.
This alone shouldn’t be a reason to decide against Dropfunnels.
They have plenty of features that make it a great tool for certain types of online business owners.
Clickfunnels:
Clickfunnels is known to have the occasional bug.
I’ve encountered several bugs in the last 8 years of using Clickfunnels, from redirects that didn’t work to broken websites. Most of these bugs could be fixed by duplicating the page, rebuilding it, changing the redirect URL or reaching out to Clickfunnels support.
A few of the bugs could be fixed quickly with their support and I must say the support is quite good even on the basic plan.
While the bugs are a nuisance, they aren’t a red flag or a deal breaker overall.
But just like Dropfunnels, I believe Clickfunnels must work on fixing these bugs. Clickfunnels makes hundreds of millions of dollars per year, they’re the leading funnel builder, so they shouldn’t have this many bugs.
Another concern I have is that Dropfunnels uses WordPress which is a bit vulnerable to hacking. I’m not aware that any Dropfunnels site has ever been hacked, but I feel slightly “safer” using Clickfunnels for some reason.
Overall, I have to let Clickfunnels win this round. It’s the more robust, reliable and less buggy tool at this point.

4. Community.
Being an online entrepreneur can be a bit lonely and isolating, so having other people use the same tools and “geek out” about the same stuff is a big plus.
Let’s compare Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels in terms of community.
I personally really enjoy it when a tool has a strong community. This is great for inspiration, to make friends, ask for help and stay motivated along the journey.
Dropfunnels:
Dropfunnels is a relatively new tool, so I wouldn’t expect it to have a huge community. They do have a Facebook group for members and some high-profile entrepreneurs using the Dropfunnels software.
This is encouraging and should be the case.
And as I mentioned earlier, the CEO of Dropfunnels personally reached out to me on Facebook which shows that it’s not always about the size of a community but also about the level of intimacy and personalization.
This is a huge plus for Dropfunnels and something you probably won’t experience with Clickfunnels. They’re too big to provide this level of individualized attention and support.
It seems like the community around Dropfunnels is still relatively small. Obviously, the community will grow with adoption as is the case with any tool. And community probably shouldn’t be the main factor when it comes to deciding which tool is better for you.
Clickfunnels:
Clickfunnels is known for its big community. This is no surprise, since they are the leading sales funnel builder in the industry and have a huge first-mover advantage. Their Facebook group has hundreds of thousands of members.
One thing I do like a lot about Clickfunnels is that they have the 2 Comma Club award, which is an award you get once you’ve processed over a million dollars in sales in one of your funnels.
I got that award in 2021 for one of my offers and it looks awesome.
I always wanted one of the awards, which shows how powerful the award is. It has prestige in the marketing community and I love the look and feel of the award. It’s a reminder of what I can accomplish.
Before hitting 7-figures, the reward was an inspiration to get there. I looked up to others who had it before me which increased my motivation to use Clickfunnels and pursue my goals.
Clickfunnels also hosts Funnel Hacking Live every year, which has become the go-to live event in the online marketing space. I’ve personally never attended, but it looks bad-ass and seems to be a great place to network and meet the community.
In terms of community size alone, it’s clear to me that Clickfunnels is the winner. But when you consider the benefits of a “small family” like Dropfunnels and the intimacy and personalized attention that comes with that, I’d say it’s a draw between the two tools.

6. Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels: Pricing.
Now that we’ve looked at some of the key differences and commonalities between Dropfunnels and Clickfunnels, let’s get to the final piece of the comparison.
Who wins in terms of pricing?
This isn’t such a straight-forward question to ask since it’s not just about price but value and what you get.
You usually get what you pay for, so paying less isn’t always better. It is an important consideration though, especially for business owners that are on a budget or want to keep things super lean.
Dropfunnels:
Dropfunnels costs $47 a month for the Lite plan, $97 a month for the Standard plan and $299 a month for the Ultimate plan.
Since you can only use 3 funnels in the lite plan, and in my experience that is not enough, I recommend going with the Standard or Ultimate plan unless you are certain you’ll only need less than three funnels.
Personally, I like to play around with funnels, import funnels, duplicate them and test stuff. With only three funnels, you constantly press against limits which can be annoying.
That being said, Clickfunnels doesn’t offer a plan this cheap, so if you truly just need three funnels (for example a lead generation funnel, a sales page and one more funnel), you can just opt for the Lite plan.

Clickfunnels:
Clickfunnels costs $97 a month for the Basic plan and $299 a month for the Platinum plan.
I was on the basic plan for almost a decade but recently switched to Clickfunnels Platinum. For a majority of users, the basic plan is more than enough.
If you don’t plan to use affiliates and already have a third-party email marketing tool like Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign, I’d say the basic plan is perfect for you. The 20 funnels, 100 pages and 20,000 monthly visitor limit is going to be very hard to surpass in my experience.
I literally scaled to 7-figures without surpassing that limit.
A lot of people don’t realize how much 20,000 monthly visitors are. It’s a lot. And most Clickfunnels users will never even get close to that number.
In case you want an all-in one marketing platform with affiliate management and full email marketing and CRM functionality, plus unlimited funnels, pages and traffic, then Clickfunnels Platinum is perfect.
It’s the plan I’m currently on.
When it comes to pricing, Dropfunnels and Clickfunnels have comparable pricing, with the difference that Dropfunnels has a Lite plan.

My comparison between Dropfunnels vs Clickfunnels is coming to an end. Which tool won? Which software do I ultimately recommend? That greatly depends on what you’re trying to achieve and what type of online entrepreneur you are.
If you need the ability to rank websites and funnels organically more easily and you want to focus on search engine optimization, I think Dropfunnels is a better fit for you.
The fact that it uses WordPress and has some benefits in terms of organic Google ranking is great.
Some of my websites rank number one on Google using Clickfunnels, but I do believe the lack of coupon codes and a proper blogging functionality is a weakness. So if you want a proper business or company blog, pick Dropfunnels.
Also, if you’re planning on doing more e-commerce related stuff and selling physical products, Dropfunnels could be great because of the coupon code feature.
Finally, if you can’t afford Clickfunnels basic plan or are looking for a cheaper option and are okay with using only three funnels, Dropfunnels could be a better option for you as well.
If you don’t need a blog and don’t care so much about search engine optimization or coupon codes, Clickfunnels is probably the better overall choice.
Despite missing a few features that Dropfunnels has, Clickfunnels pretty much does everything that Dropfunnels does but with the benefit of a strong community, decade-long track record and proven platform.
Both tools are promising, pick whichever one you believe fits your situation better.
