Education Based Marketing — How To Communicate Effectively With Customers & Prospects | TBS #041

Podcast

I got a question from Atle Solberg recently, who just came back from India and wants to start his own Yoga business back home.

He was wondering why a lot of people are misinformed and skeptical about Yoga and how he can gain people’s trust and attention for his own Yoga practice.

So, I have three thoughts for you:

1) Only sell to people who are already sold

Why try to convince someone who isn’t into Yoga? There’s millions of people who are fanatic about Yoga. You don’t have to re-invent your market because it’s already sold to the idea of Yoga and meditation.

They are already open to your ideas. You just have to captivate their attention, because they are already interested in the subject.

2) Speak from a place of authenticity

The easiest way to make a connection with people is through authenticity and honesty. Share your experience of learning from your “guru” in India as authentically and openly as possible. That’s a great way to communicate and get across your message.

So don’t restrict your personality. Use it to your advantage. Make an impression.

3) Use education based marketing

Use your story of flying to India to learn from a guru as the central piece of your marketing. And educate people about what you’ve learned, and do so in a genuine way. Learning form a guru, can make YOU a guru.

One of the best ways to market in general is through education.

Use education based marketing: where you teach someone something they don’t know as much about as you. You will build the authority, trust and rapport that you need to sell.

Hope this helps Atle Solberg.
