As you probably know, I am not a big reader. Most of my success comes from hard-core, ruthless execution and hard work.
And I believe that’s all that’s needed to succeed.
Most people are preoccupied with books and information, which is part of the problem. I was reluctant to release a list with book recommendations for a long time for that same reason.
However, as long as you focus 99% of your time and energy on the execution and only 1% on reading books, I don’t see any problem.
That being said, here are some of my favourite books:
1) The War Of Art – Steven Pressfield
Steven Pressfield is a Hollywood screenwriter and in “The War Of Art” he talks about productivity and work-ethic. It’s the best book I’ve ever read on productivity and becoming a hard-core executor in life.
I first read this book in 2012 and it literally changed my life. I went from being a dabbler to being able to work consistently every day.

2) The Icarus Deception – Seth Godin
I love pretty much all of Seth Godin’s books, but “The Icarus Deception” was the first one I read. Seth talks about how our society teaches us to fly low and how we can break free from this unhelpful conditioning and unleash our full creativity and potential in life.

3) Linchpin – Seth Godin
In this book Seth talks about the end of the industrial age and how regular 9-to-5 jobs are starting to fade away. He talks about how you can become irreplaceable in society by focussing on human, emotional work instead of being a replaceable factory worker.
It’s an awesome book that will help you create financial stability in your life, and prove that your parents and teachers were wrong.

4) Tribes – Seth Godin
Thanks to the Internet people are now clustering together in tribes. A tribe is a group of people with the same interests. Everyone can now become a leader, not of billions of people, but of a specific tribe.
It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read on leadership.

5) All Marketers Are Liars – Seth Godin
This is a great book on the basics of marketing. Seth talks about the fact that marketers don’t create new beliefs and mindsets in people, but tell stories that match the existing mindsets and beliefs of people. Awesome book if you want to understand the meta-level of marketing.
It will kind of blow your mind because you won’t look at advertising and marketing in the same way anymore, but it’s worth it.

6) The Power Of Full Engagement – Tony Schwartz and Jim Loehr
This is a great book about productivity. You’ll learn why time management isn’t the best way to become productive and how energy management is the way to get the most out of your day.
It’s an awesome book about finding balance in life, following the rhythms of nature and increasing your focus and productivity.

7) Great Leads – Michael Masterson and John Forde
This is one of the best books on copywriting that I’ve ever read. You’ll learn how to write great copy, how to come up with ads that sell and how to use words to persuade people to buy your stuff online.
The book is full of practical examples and it will help you write great advertising copy for your Facebook ads and product pages.

8) Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki
This has been the number one best-seller about investing for many years and is a must-read for anyone who wants to become financially intelligent and educated. Robert Kiyosaki shows you how to invest your money and how to become rich and wealthy the right way.
He talks about common pitfalls the poor and middle-class fall into and how to tell the difference between assets and liabilities in life.
