The best way to create high quality, unique content is by asking yourself what type of videos you’d like to see from others. What content to make on youtube is a personal question. What would YOU like to see?
Don’t copy-cat what other people are already doing.
For example, if you’re in the fitness industry and just do the exact same type of videos like everyone else and regurgitate the same videos everyone else is already making, you won’t succeed.
You’re just going to be “the next” fitness channel or fitness person, but it’s not enough to raise above the noise and get attention.
You need what Seth Godin calls a purple cow.
A purple cow is something that is remarkable and noteworthy. See, other people already have brown cows, black cows, white cows, so to be remarkable and get the consumer’s attention, you need a purple cow. And that requires some art, innovation and uniqueness.
If you just copy what others are doing, you will never create that purple cow effect. So what you have to do is find an unserved demand or untapped idea that is unique to your channel.
Here’s a little exercise to find something like this:
Ask yourself what type of videos you’d like to see from other channels, but nobody is making? What would be your ideal vision of a YouTube channel in your particular niche? What gets you excited?
Explore your own creativity and make yourself the number one fan of your channel. And then create content for that number one fan.
In other words, put yourself and your creativity first.
If you can create something remarkable that you love, crafted with your own vision and creativity, other people will start liking it. And it will be something different than what everyone else is doing.
That’s how you stand out with your YouTube channel and raise above the noise. And that’s how you can grow a Youtube channel fast. Now start thinking about what would get you excited.
Create that perfect channel and follow your vision.
