A lot of people seem concerned that they need tons of products on their store before they start drop shipping.

The truth is:

You only need 3 to 6 items to launch your first store. That’s it.

If you’re getting your drop shipping traffic from Facebook ads, then 99% of the people who click on your ad will only see the product page of the main item you’re promoting and won’t browse any other page.

People either buy or leave the page.

So almost nobody will even bother to look around your store and see what other products you have, they just buy out of impulse or they abandon the product page and most likely never come back again. In very rare cases people take the time to really “look around”.

That makes your life a lot easier, because you can focus on optimizing the product page of your main item rather than the store.

It’s an advantage. You don’t have to have so many items on your store. You don’t have to deal with different suppliers and various margins. And overall it takes less time to put your store up and running.

Whenever I launch a new drop shipping store I only add 3 items, and most of the time I don’t even add more than that down the road.

I apply the Pareto principle, a.k.a 80-20 rule, because I focus on the 20% (3 products) that get me 80% of my sales. I could add more products, but the increase in my sales would be minimal. And so I make a decision to only focus on 3 products.

You should do the same: focus on 3 products.

Make sure you put your energy where it’s needed.

Don’t over-analyse this thing. Just take action and start making sales.
